The original French Brittany Gun Dog Association was formed in August 1997.  At the annual membership meeting held in Muscatine, Iowa on March 27, 2009, the Constitution and ByLaws were ammended and ratified by the general membership, and the logo and name was changed to Club de l'Epagneul Breton of the United States, Inc.
